Paper Towns Review

Paper Towns was a great read. It was your typical John Green book; creative and original. Well original for the most part. I know some of his other books like 'The Fault in Our Stars' isn't exactly an original idea but I'm talking about the writing. The writing man. It's how you can tell apart a John Green book from any other. He uses a variety of big words and some of them at times I can't understand but that's fine by me.

If you want to enhance your English vocabulary John Green books will be of a perfect assistance.

The story was lovely, There came a point when I was so intrigued by it that I didn't want to put the book down. I love anything that is related with adventures and this book has it all. The road trip was by far my favourite part of the book mainly because it showed more of Q's relationship with his friends than his obsession for Margo. I felt like I was on that road trip with them, it had me on the edge of my seat. I would leave the whole book and re-read only that part again.

Here's what I disliked in the book:  Q obsessing over Margo like there was no tomorrow. I get it really she's awesome but duuuude can you give it a break? We all love her. She's spontaneous and all of that good stuff but give it a rest. Gosh. I think it's cute but sometimes it can annoy you. I like Margo's Courageousness and rebelliousness and her open-mind which later on in the book we see Quentin adapting those qualities. I mean I wouldn't call Q rebellious but he's got something of the sort. I didn't like how Margo decided to just drop everything and leave without notice or saying goodbye or even caring at all. Yes her parents are bitter and come off as uncaring but her sister clearly does care and that's an enough reason for her to stay. At least say something, anything! I'm clearly not happy about Margo's actions and even with her reasons for why she did what she did, it wasn't an excuse. I feel like what she did was childish - running away like that.

Here's why:
  1. She's Eighteen years old.
  2. She's Eighteen years old meaning she's an adult meaning she could've have left freely and had the chance to say goodbye to her family and Q.
  3. No one was going to lock her in her room and force her to stay.
  4. An argument would happen at most but that's it.
  5. All would be resolved.
It's clear that she doesn't like the cycle of how people live in; Getting the perfect grades to get into the perfect college to get the perfect job to provide food for your children and yourself.

Margo, you are a fictional character but I'm still going to say this: Running away and ignoring all your problems won't make them go away. You can't go off into oblivion and decide that everything else is irrelevant.

I'm not a negative person I'm actually working on being a more positive person. Maybe, I guess things will workout for you. Maybe you don't have to go through it all. But have you ever stopped to wonder it didn't have to be so boring and unhappy? I feel like more than a lot of people make life out to be such a cruel and harsh place and even at times I'm convinced that it's true. It's not though. People like to talk a lot. They like to put stress on other people when they feel stressed instead of finding a way to work through their problems. They like to make life sound so hard and exhausting.

Here's the truth: Life is hard. It isn't a piece of cake. Things aren't going to be handed to you on a silver platter. You got to work for it. But let me tell you this, it'll be worth it. I promise you it'll be worth all the tears and sweat. You can do this. People, so many of them will tell you how hard and bad it was for them and you should take their advice into consideration (by into consideration I mean know that you are willing to put in the effort.) but you shouldn't let it determine whether you go for it or not. We always hear people complaining about their process through working but they don't often talk about the pleasure of achieving it in the end.

Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

Back to the story: Margo talks about growing up and doing all of these things like it's a stupid, useless way of spending your life. I think not. I think if you do what makes you happy then it won't matter how much time it'll take to get you there or how hard the process will be because you really want to do that certain thing!!

I feel like I kind of went off topic but oh well.

Anyway that's everything that I wanted to let out about the book and if you have not yet read it I suggest you get on with it because it's a great read.

THANKS FOR READING.

That Type Of Person Tag.

HEYO. I haven't posted anything new in weeks. So I thought of doing the 'That Type Of Person Tag' I've only seen one person do this tag and it was Connor Franta, I love his video's and when I watched him do the tag it looked like fun so here it is:

1. Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner?

Breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day and I cannot process anything without it pretty much.

2. Do you drink your cereal milk?

To be honest it just depends how good the milk is but recently I have been drinking the milk which is new because I tend to not drink it.

3. CD's, Radio or Phone when you drive?

I don't drive but If I did I would use my phone.

4. Window or Aisle?

Window. I have a feeling the aisle would make me claustrophobic. Plus the view is something you can't miss.

4. Fold or Crumple?

Fold.

5. Shampoo then body wash or body wash then Shampoo?

Shampoo before body wash.

6. Are you typically stressed or relaxed?

Stressed. Oh My God. I stress too much and it's really bad. Like I could stress about something that hasn't even happened yet or the smallest thing. Stressing occurs a lot with me.

7. Patient or Impatient?

I hate to admit this but I'm more Impatient than patient. I like to think of myself as a patient person though. Even though I'm actually not. It isn't good for my being.

8. Schedule or Go with the flow?

It really depends on the thing I'm scheduling like if it's school work then I'm not good with sticking with it I just do what I need to get done I don't waste any time writing it down because i'm already constantly thinking about it and reminding myself. But for somethings I may need a schedule Although I have no memory of the last one I did. So maybe I am kind of a Go with the flow person.

9. What did you want to be when you grew up?

As a child I've always wanted to be a hairstylist and work at a beauty salon.

10. Prankster or No?

I'm internally laughing because I suck at throwing pranks on people, I always seem so obvious and laugh. But seriously though I think if I really intended on pranking someone I would ace it.

11. Dressed up or dressed down?

It depends on the occasion and my mood. I do both!

12. Favorite clothing item?

Shoes.

13. What instrument would you play?

I'm a big fan of the Piano. I used to take lessons as a kid but I don't know what happened.

14. East cost or West coast?

West. This sounds typical but I want to travel to LA someday. Preferably during the summer.

15. London or LA?

Both I'd love to visit. I think LA though.

16. Favorite Holiday?

RAMADAN! I am SO SO SO excited for it! It's only a week and a few days away. I miss it tremendously.

17. How big is your bed?

I don't know. It's kind of a one person only bed.

18. Do you sleep with the doors opened or closed.

Mostly opened but If I can here noise then I close it.

19. Sheets tucked in or out?

In. Not always though.

20. Have you ever stolen anything?

Yes, candy.

21. Tattoos or Piercings?

I'm never getting a tattoo. I don't think I'll get any piercing's other than the original ones I have on my ears.

22. Do you smile in every photo?

No, not all.

23. Have you ever peed in the woods?

Nope! Never have.

24. Concerts or Theme parks?

Both are exciting and get your heart pumping but i think Concerts.

25. Music or Books?

Books. Which reminds me of all the books I really want to read, I'm currently reading Paper Towns and I'm loving it.

26. Animated or reality?

Reality but I'm a big fan of animated as well!!

27. Letter or Email?

Letters all the way!!! I feel like they're more personal and I just want to go back when Email wasn't invented yet and communicate through letters!

28. What was your first concert?

Funny Story: The first concert I went to I had no clue who the artist was I just went for fun with the Fam. Apparently he was really talented because the place was packed and the singer arrived at like 12 am. My family told me not to go because I went to sleep early and I felt sad because I thought I was hardcore and I could stay up all night like them too. But thanks to the not-so-early arrival of the singer I really wanted to go home and sleep. I tried so hard to fight it though. But then I sat on the sand (The concert was on the beach which did not help) and pretended I was just tired of standing up for too long when actually I wanted to lay down and call it a night. I couldn't catch a glimpse of the singer but he sounded pretty good. I know him now and his songs are great. I blame it all on him though. WHO ARRIVES TO HIS CONCERT THE NEXT DAY? Was that supposed to be cool? It's all good though.

29. Do you own a record player?

Yes I do. It's really old though. I don't know if it still works.

30. Do you speak any different languages?

I speak Arabic and a little bit of Italian.

31. Sweet or Savory?

Savory. I'm more of a Salt person.

32. Can you curl your tongue?

Nah I'm lame.

33. Can you touch your tongue to your nose?

See answer of question 32.

34. Can you whistle?

YES! HA! I'm cool.

35. Have you ever won a spelling bee?

I Have never entered a spelling bee therefore I cannot answer that.

36. Do you believe in Ghosts?

Nah

37. Do you believe in aliens?

NOPE.

Why You Shouldn`t Drink Alcohol

There are multiple reasons why I think drinking is not okay. I always wonder why it isn't illegal. I mean, yes you have the responsible people, then you have the careless people. Not to mention I'm 80% sure some teens manage to get their fingers around it. To me, alcohol can be a way to commit suicide. It actually is a way. I'm not exaggerating I promise. It can seriously damage your health. If you like drinking and find this post even a little offensive I still think you should know what exactly Alcohol does to the Brain, Liver, Pancreas and Heart.

Here is how Alcohol can affect your body when you`re drinking an excessive amount of it. I strongly encourage you to read this till the end.

Brain:

Alcohol interferes with the brain’s communication pathways, and can affect the way the brain looks and works. These disruptions can change mood and behavior, and make it harder to think clearly and move with coordination.

So basically you have no control over your brain. You`re not sure of what`s going on around you.

Also it can damage The Heart:

Causing problems like:

  • Cardiomyopathy | Stretching and drooping of heart muscle
  • Arrhythmias | Irregular heart beat
  • Stroke
  • High blood pressure
Liver:

Heavy drinking takes a toll on the liver, and can lead to a variety of problems and liver inflammations including:

  • Steatosis, or fatty liver
  • Alcoholic hepatitis
  • Fibrosis
  • Cirrhosis

Pancreas:

Alcohol causes the pancreas to produce toxic substances that can eventually lead to pancreatitis, a dangerous inflammation and swelling of the blood vessels in the pancreas that prevents proper digestion.

Now we have the worst of it all; Cancer.

You see, drinking too much alcohol can increase your risk of developing certain cancers, including cancers of the:

  • Esophagus
  • Mouth
  • Liver
  • Throat
  • Breast
So this is it. This is why I think Alcohol should be illegal. If you drink please be careful. If you don`t and know someone who does, please share this post with them. You might be thinking something like ``I don`t even drink that much`` but it is possible. Know that people care about you so even if you don`t care enough for yourself, keep in mind that your friends and family love you so much and they wouldn`t want to see you getting hurt in any way shape or form.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

You Can Do It.

School. Most days It will be the last place on earth I'd want to be. Some days I'd go just so I can see my friends. Other times I go simply because if I don't I'll end up sitting at home, alone, doing nothing productive. To me, in my current year of high school I find it extremely hard to be persistently positive about school. I love learning. I love to increase my knowledge. But, I hate when I have to force myself to learn things just so I can get a good grade. That's when my whole perspective on school changes.

Now, I'm a person who can overthink, a lot. When that happens I start feeling anxious and It's the worst thing ever. School can make you feel depressed. Some might agree with me but on the other hand I know a lot of others will. Schools should change the way they teach and the way things process. Don't make everything about getting excellent grades. Make learning fun. Don't stress the students out. Support them. Most importantly do not tell them, generally speaking that they cannot achieve their dreams. Never ever do that. What? That girl/guy wants to become a surgeon? Great! Support them. That guy/girl wants to be president? Tell he/she you can do anything! Don't shoot their dreams. Don't do that because all of that is possible. I know so many people who didn't do the things they love because people told them "it's too hard" "that's not right for you" "you're not good enough"

No! Stop! What are you doing? You want to know how you can help pupils enjoy school and studying with a positive attitude? By telling them that whatever they want, whatever that is, they can have it. With hard work. Possibility is one of the most amazing things ever. When students set goals for themselves they'll be motivated to do whatever it takes to become what they want.

And for anyone out there who feels like they can't get through something, you can. You can do anything. We all go through hard stuff whether we like it or not. The best way to deal with those things is to go into them positively.

Don't let someone tell you you can't do something.

Also I'd like to share some Media that helped me become more positive.

Movie's: The Pursuit Of Happyness, Homeless To Harvard.
